Busting Vape Myths

Vaping can be daunting due to the jargon and sheer amount of devices you can vape with. If you’re confused or intimidated when it comes to this wonderful medium of cannabis consumption, don’t worry, that’s completely normal. Thankfully, we’ve got the answers to all your burning (vaporizing?) questions.

What are the different formats of vaping?

There are several diverse options when it comes to vaping even though they all have the same function and end goal.

Disposable Vapes

  • Disposable vapes are pre-charged one-time use vapes. They cannot be charged or refilled with oil. They often have a preset amount of hits you can get out of them.

Flower Vapes

  • These vapes are meant to vaporize cannabis buds rather than concentrates or oils. Some give you the ability to control the temperature the cannabis is vaporized at for a custom experience.

Pod Vaporizers

  • These vapes are rechargeable devices that use pods filled with cannabis oil made only for that device. The pods are often only sold by the manufacturer of the device.

Oil/Concentrate Vaporizers

  • These are heavy-duty vaporizers made to vaporize cannabis oil extract. They are often large, modifiable and have several options such as temperature control.

510 Threaded

  • 510 threaded is a term used to describe the threading that connects vape cartridges and batteries. All 510 products are compatible with each other. You can purchase cartridges filled with cannabis oil and batteries separately.

What is vitamin E acetate and why is it causing deaths?

Vitamin E acetate, also known as tocopheryl acetate, is a synthetic form of vitamin E. It has many uses including cosmetics, sunscreen and topical medications.

Vitamin E acetate does not cause harm when swallowed as a supplement or applied topically to the skin, but when inhaled it may interfere with normal lung function.

Vitamin E acetate is an extremely viscous substance, resembling honey. When being inhaled into the lungs, it tends to stick around and makes for a dangerous combination.

Does Fire & Flower sell products with vitamin E acetate?

No.

Vitamin E acetate is often used in the extraction process for THC in black market products. You will not find vitamin E acetate in our products because Canadian licensed producers use a different process to extract THC.

Why do vapes explode?

The answer comes down to tampering or buying faulty products.
