One of the biggest hurdles in the bedroom can be to relax and be in the moment with your partner/s or when solo. Whether youâre doing you or someone else, we know of a few products that may help with that. Sure, you can give the usual flowers for Valentineâs Day⌠or you can let our flowers do the talking.
Cannabis Flower and Sex
Maybe you want to add a little extra heat by lighting up before going down. Itâs not just about the THC/CBD percentages but the terpenes as well that play a role in how you enjoy your cannabis. Linalool (lavender) and bisabolol (chamomile) are commonly associated with relaxation and those same terpenes can be found in cannabis. Everyoneâs cannabinoid system reacts differently so your experience of a cannabis product will vary from someone else.
When choosing a flower to smoke, donât just swipe right on the first one you see, think about the night you want to have and read their strain profiles. There are some strains that may help you burn for your partner. One example of an inviting Indica is Granddaddy Purple, a strain with not only linalool but myrcene (potential relaxation), limonene (mood), and beta-pinene (alertness). Another Indica to get into bed is Back Fortyâs âWedding Pieâ which is a bud with linalool, limonene, beta-caryophyllene and alpha-bisabolol. And if a more active Sativa is warranted, âMandarin Cookiesâ by Weed Me has alpha-bisabolol (could be even more chill), limonene and linalool.

Cannabis Edibles and Sex
Give a little sugar before getting some sugar and offer your beloved a cannabis-infused chocolate or soft chew. Edibles can be tricky to combine with sex due to the slow-release time normally associated with them. But if edibles are your main method of consumption, just remember that timing is everything (plan the night accordingly). A common mistake with cannabis-infused treats is thinking you need more after downing your first portion, but it can take anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour or longer for some people to notice the effects. And if youâre new to cannabis, 10mg can be a lot so be mindful of your limits and start low.
Maybe you donât want to go all the way with THC and are looking for something more balanced. Wyldâs Pear Hybrid Enhanced THC:CBG soft chews are a 1:1 edible containing limonene, linalool and pinene. Does your partner make you thirsty? Another blend to try would be the pink and bubbly XMGâs Cream Soda with 10mg THC or slow things down with a glass of Lemon CBD Mixer by HWY 59 Cannabis with 60mg of CBD. And if you want to tell a stoner you like them a choco-lot, Back Fortyâs Sâmores are a 10mg THC milk chocolate edible that could lead to you getting sâmore (if you catch our meaning).

Cannabis Bath Bombs and Soaks
Yes, these exist and yes, they are as great as they sound. As a pre-cursor to setting the mood with topicals or oils, try a CBD/THC infused bath bomb or salt soak. These tub transformers offer a more full-body affair ranging in concentration from 85mg to over 1,000mg of CBD and minimal THC ranges of 0 â 160mg*. We love these products for you, your partner or as a gift to all your Galentines, Palentines or⌠Bro-entines? We will work on that one.
Here is how to use a cannabis bath bomb
- Run a luxuriously hot bath, light some candles and put on some sexy tunes
- Drop that bomb
- Soak it in for at least 30 mins to let the oils do their thing
- Literally do whatever you want. Read, watch a movie (wink, wink), or just generally lose yourself in the steam
- Get out and get those topicals, oils and lubes ready
We also suggest wiping your bath out after you use them, as they can sometimes leave some oily residue. But you can leave this step until after youâre finished whatever youâre doing next đ

Cannabis Topicals and Lubricants
While these products might sound very similar (and familiar) they have different uses when youâre combining cannabis and sex. The most significant difference between these products is that lubricants are intended for internal usage whereas intimacy oils are almost entirely applied externally. So make sure you know what your plans are and read the label before you introduce either of these into the bedroom.
When you smoke or ingest cannabis, you feel it throughout your body but with topicals like body lotions or oils, the effects are more localized and non-psychoactive. Most lotions do not absorb passed the dermis (aka the top) layer, however, there is the exception with trans-dermal topicals which penetrate deeper and supposedly give greater outcomes. Ethanol, oleic acid, methanol and some terpenes such as menthol and eucalyptol are sometimes used in the development of topicals to encourage permeation of the skin. These are what might give you that *tingly* feeling when you put them on yourself or your partner (and notice we said ON and not IN).
While most infused lubricants and oils are sold out at shops (itâs been a long winter, we get it), many of us have these products, or have been curious about them, but arenât exactly sure how to incorporate them into the bedroom.
Some will scoff at intimacy or arousal oils and may see the use-prior-to-intercourse guide (usually 15-20 minutes) as a challenge, but the key phrase is intimacy. The product is to help set the mood and assist with foreplay. And if you donât know what foreplay is, you may need more help than we can provide in this blog.
This Valentineâs Day, consider cannabis as a more mutually enjoyable option than a drugstore box of candies (no shade). We all could do with a little more romance, so do something special this year for someone or yourself. And after you have wined and dined, you can let our flowers do the talking.

Cannabis Sex Safety Tips
Whenever you want to introduce something intoxicating to the bedroom (or wherever, you do you), always listen to your partner and respect their boundaries and right to consent. Creating a safe environment is part of the foreplay. Understand your limits and use cannabis as potentially another avenue to explore the senses and each other.
If introducing an intimacy oil, remember that many intimacy oils will have essential oils such as ylang ylang, jasmine and peppermint which can help with relaxation but could cause irritation if used internally. So mind the label and use them how they were intended. We cannot stress this enough.
Some oils can be damaging to latex as well making some forms of birth control less effective. Again⌠always read the label for the ingredients of the intended oil or lubricant to avoid any unwanted interactions. Like with any cannabis product, especially when youâre new to it, start low and go slow. That advice works for Valentineâs Day as well (youâre welcome).
*Availability of products and their THC/CBD ranges can vary from production to production. Always check the product in stock to be sure of the percentages of THC/CBD for your comfort level. These ranges were based on bath bomb and salt soaks in the Ontario market.
